A brief description of the ATM, debit and credit card donor program at  Maryland Youth Maritime Academy.

Some people on the internet have grave concerns about using a credit/debit/or an e-check have grave concerns on the option of being able to use their ATM, debt cards, credit cards or e-checks.  We at (MYMA) have found a viable solution, and are able to accept ATM, debit, credit card and/or e-check payments for donations and memberships.  We are not encouraging you to increase your debt by using your credit card or an e-check, but have implemented the program for those who want to use their debit, credit cards or e-checks.  We strongly encourage you to be a responsible steward.

How to Make a Debit or Credit Card Donation

If you would like to use your VISA, MasterCard, Discover Card, American Express or an e-check for your donation, sponsorship and or membership dues simply complete the Electronic Payment Authorization formATM and debit cards are a more recent invention than credit cards and are not as standardized, and we can only process ATM and debit cards that have the VISA or MasterCard logo on them.

Your ATM, Debit and Credit Card Statement

When you receive your monthly card statement, the amount that you authorized MD.YMA to debit your bank account or charge to your credit card will be listed as "My donation and/or membership payment.” The name of our organization (Maryland Youth Maritime Academy) will not be on your monthly card statement. If you have any questions about the charges, please contact us immediately.

Receipts

You will also receive a conformation immediately online and a receipt from Maryland Youth Maritime Academy in the same manner as if you made your donation by check. Your ATM, debit or credit card or checking account statement is backup documentation of your payment, but is not your receipt. Please let us know if you have additional needs regarding your receipt.

Reoccurring Donations

If you have chosen to make reoccurring donations and have authorized the church to make reoccurring charges to your debit or credit card, we will only do so within the time frame  and  the amounts  that  you  have authorized. The advantage of this for Maryland Youth Maritime Academy is that we can better function within our budget with monthly donations we can count on. The advantage of reoccurring charges for you is ease and simplicity.  After prudent consideration you can make a pledge and it will be automated for you on any schedule of donations you desire.

Right to Change Your Mind

You are not locked-in, just because you authorize reoccurring donations.  You are not locked-in, just because you authorize reoccurring donations. You still have the right to change your mind.  Of course it makes monthly planning for the church easier if everyone is willing to donate according to their means and their expressed intentions.  However, if your circumstances change you can rescind your authorization for any donations not yet charged to your debit or credit card. Simply call the office and inform us of your decision, then follow it up with a written notice. It is just that simple.
